MAC WATER-WEIGHT FOUNDATION AND APPS THAT MATCH YOUR FOUNDATION'S?

Recently I purchased a new foundation from MAC, I hadn't seen the water-weight foundation before and weirdly, anything with a pipette attracts me instantly! -I have no idea why.  I was slightly sceptical because although the foundation applied smoothly onto the back of my hand in store and it looked like a lovely consistency, I have dry skin so I was worried it would cling to the wrong places and make me look patchy. I read mixed reviews on it on my phone whilst in store but just decided to go for it! The coverage is medium but build-able which I would say it completely correct! I could have a slightly sheer coverage for daytime wear or a build-able, heavier coverage for night out which I love- its like a two in one foundation!

I absolutely love the pipette, the product is also very runny so I feel like I can get all of the product out properly and not waste any like you tend to do with some of the other mac foundations when you cant reach to the bottom of the glass bottle- SO annoying. When applying the product, I drop it onto my beauty blender and then blend it onto the face- this is the easiest and least messy method.

The shade I got was NC20 which is a perfect shade for this time of year for me. Whenever I am looking to buy a new foundation that I can sometimes only get online if it isn't completely accessible I have to just completely wing it and pick a colour at random which can be very risky when spending a lot of money on a good quality foundation. I have recently been seeing many apps, such as MADE-2-FIT, Loreal shade genius or Slapp that help match the foundation and heard rumours about other really good apps that help match any foundation from any brand perfectly to your skin but I haven't seen good evidence of this, I think this is something that is definitely missing in the market, there should be an app that you type in all of your existing foundation shades from the brands you have used,  which it then uses to pair up with other shades from other brands. I think holding the camera up to your face so an app can guess the colour isn't reliable enough as your skin tone can vary depending on the lighting, season or if you already have makeup/product on your face. I am going to test out the apps and see if they really work or not.

OBSESSION WITH DIOR MAKEUP

The next few blog posts will be on some new makeup I have recently been trying out, I wanted to share some of my favourite products with you all! Recently I have been LOVING Dior makeup. I had tried a few lipsticks and lip-glosses from there before but hadn't really splurged there in a while and also wanted to try some new products I had heard good things about. I find Dior such a luxurious brand to own and see it as a real treat. I have been obsessed with the glow range which also has a lip scrub balm I need to get my hands on! From the glow range I have purchased the holographic sculpting powder, rosy glow blush, the sensational mirror shine hydra-plumping volume lipgloss in 676 cruise, high volume lip plumper in 002 (which is collagen active) and a colour awakening hydrating lip balm in 009 holo glow. I also got give two samples of one of their foundations so I cant wait to see what they are like too.
I noticed the glowy, skin lumiser when obsessing over the glow lip range and just instantly needed it! I was originally looking for a warm pinky/gold toned highlighter and was going to buy MAC extra dimension skin finishes in either show gold or beaming blush -these are still amazing products and admittedly half the price at twenty four pounds fifty but I fell in love with this Dior highlighter.. and if you cant treat yourself after Christmas then when can you!?
I also really wanted to get my hands on the rosy glow blush, the pigmentation on this blush is amazing and you only really need a little bit to make a difference. I'd describe it as a natural, fresh faced, wind kissed skin look. Another massive factor as to why I love Dior makeup is not just the quality of the makeup itself, it is the packaging too. the Dior blushes and highlighters came in velvety pouches and came with not rubbish brushes! you can just see the quality in them which I love. the lip plumper actually does make a temporary difference to the plumpness of my lips, this is because of the collagen in it. I love how they come in three different shades so you can layer it or wear it on its own, I chose the peachy shade as it had the most natural looking pigment. I have always been a fan of the glosses so knew id end up loving that too. The colour awakening hydrating lip balms are something really different, they're so natural looking and do bring out the colour of your lips, it gives such an effortless look whilst also keeping your lips moisturised. I am a big fan of sheer, build able lipsticks with a shine as opposed to matte or really heavy colours so these are perfect to me. If anyone remembers the Revlon cloudburst lip butters then they are very similar to them! I next want to get my hands on the colour awakening exfoliating lip balm from this range as I get such dry lips in winter but still want to wear nice lip products, I believe this would be the perfect problem fixer!

AMSTERDAM- PHOTO SERIES

Just before Christmas my boyfriend and I had a mini break to Amsterdam, i've always wanted to visit Amsterdam because of the pretty canals and the Anne Frank house which were both amazing in much different ways. We only really had two and a half days there but we managed to fit everything we wanted to in! My favourite experiences were the Heineken factory because of the interactive elements in it, the Moco museum because of the recent Banksy exhibition and Anne Frank house because it was a really moving, interesting experience, I really want to read her diary soon! I recommend everything we did and loved my mini break there! I hope you enjoy this mini photo series:

Amsterdam is soo pretty, especially around Christmas! I hope you enjoyed my Amsterdam photo series!

BALI- PHOTO SERIES

As I have been lucky enough to have had a few of amazing holidays and little trips away recently, I thought I would start a little photo series of everywhere I travel to. This is a way to share with you all of my experiences and best places to go! I also think it will be a nice way for me to look back on my trips and reminisce on the holidays i've had.

I had a holiday to Bali, Indonesia this summer with two friends and I can honestly say it was on of the best holidays I have ever been on in my life! We travelled around a little bit during our stay to Kuta (BIG mistake, DO NOT go to Kuta haha! it was dirty, uncultured and we were mugged!), however Seminyak, Uluwatu, Ubud, Gili air and Gili T  were all amazing. My personal favourite place was Ubud because there was so much to do and there was a lot of beautiful surroundings and culture, my favourite place we stayed there was an air b&b overlooking rice terraces with swings and an intimate, chilled atmosphere. My favourite place for nightlife and a bit of a laugh was Gili T, we stayed at a hostel called my mates place which was so fun and we met soo many people on our short stay there just by going out and getting drunk with everyone haha! I also loved how the islands had no vehicles and you had to either ride a bike or walk everywhere! (they did use horse and carts but it was very cruel so we didn't even think about a ride with them!). Below are some of my favourite photographs from the trip. It was an amazing, magical trip and I 100% recommend Bali to everyone!

I hope you enjoyed!
