LONDON DAY TRIP

For my mums 50th birthday I decided to take her to London for the day to go for afternoon tea at Fortnum and Mason and go and watch The Nutcracker at the London Coliseum. We also decided to take a little trip to the V&A museum to have a look at whats on at the moment! I wanted to share a few pictures from the day with you all.

I spotted some puffer jackets on the tube! perfect for my trend although not exactly tough 90's style!

I thought these trainers were a feminine take on my tough 90s trend at the V&A museum! Unfortunately you were not allowed to take any photographs of the two exhibitions on at the moment- 'Undressed' and 'So you say you want a revolution'.

I did however, manage to get some sneaky photographs of the jewellery part of the V&A, this was before getting told off. I just love anything that sparkles!

I loved these two dresses found in the theatre section of the V&A, fortunately I was allowed to get some good photos of these two!

These were two of my favourite photographs found in the Photography section. The first ones 'Dressed and Undressed' are by Helmut Newton. These images were first published in French and Italian Vogue as they were considered too risque for American publishing which wasn't anything new for Newton. i love how the women look equally as confident, dressed or not. The second image 'Fashion-able' was taken by Nick Knight. It was taken of Paralympian and double amputee Aimee Mullins and was in an issue of Dazed and Confused magazine which was edited by Alexander McQueen. I love what this image was trying to say and how it defies traditional conventions of beauty.

A few more images I liked, the second one in particular which was by Tim Walker featuring Lily Cole.

London looking pretty before all of the Christmas lights get taken down and all of the teas in Fortnum and Mason.

We had a little wander around Fortnum and Mason itself before heading upstairs to the tea room. The fragrance stand and shower cap wall were two of my favourite features in the shop!

Our lovely afternoon tea setup and outside before we watched the Nutcracker ballet. We had a lovely day out to London, I don't know why I don't go more often!

Thankyou for reading
Love from Georgia,
