Day five was a very organised, planned ahead day for us. We got up early to catch the staten island ferry to go past the Statue of Liberty. I have to admit, this was a little bit disappointing as such a famous, highly spoken about building. We made the decision not to go on the actual island but I still thought it looked quite small, however saying that it was definitely nice to see and it had been ticked off of my bucket list.
After getting off the ferry we decided to go and visit the 9/11 memorial as it was close by and was something we all wanted to do. Although I knew what to expect it still shocks you when you see just how high all of the buildings around are and how closely together they are around wall street. The memorial created with the fountain was beautiful and I thought it was lovely how they lay a rose on the persons name when it is their birthday.
I wanted to visit the little church close by that survived the 9/11 attacks as I had heard they have a memorable memorial there that is just as upsetting as the fountains itself. I was disappointed when I found out there had been a renovation in the summer of 2016 and I didn't quite understand why they would have emptied the church out. Im guessing this is what the museum is for next to the fountains. This was a beautiful building next to another stunning one called Oculus which was bizarrely a mall randomly situated in the middle of it all!
We also visited the MOMA later on in the day which I am going to do a separate blog post on. I found it slightly bizarre in there but there was some pieces I really liked such as this sneak preview of an Andy Warhol piece of Marilyn Monroe.

At the end of the day we had a Broadway show booked to go and see Chicago, this was yet another amazing experience. They were very theatrical and over the to which I loved! Mel B played the main role which was nice to see- she is an amazing actor as well as singer! (although her Northern accent did slip out on the odd occasion!).

Thankyou for reading,
Love from Georgia
