DECORATING CARDBOARD LETTERS

Welcome back!
Sorry for the lack of blog posts recently!- I've had a really busy but great summer, however I am back and have lots to share with you all! I will be starting university in under a month and I am SO excited to start doing work again and to show you all what I get up to. For anyone who is interested- I will be studying Fashion Communication and Promotion and I couldn't be more ready!

I am always doing little crafty projects on the go.. I've just always got to have something arty to do! So I thought I would share with you all something I have created recently. I have been seeing a lot of decorative letters around that people either have in their rooms for their initials or have lots of letters to spell something out and I love them but just haven't found the right one yet! I was recently in hobbycraft buying some supplies for my pre-arrival task for university (blog post on that soon!) and I spotted some large cardboard letters all decorated differently with different printed tissue papers. I decided to pick some letters and tissue papers up and create some of my own for me and my friends for our rooms when we go to uni (we will need something to cheer up our tiny boring rooms!).

I decided to go for a collage/patchwork effect and use all of the prints on the letters instead of going for the same pattern all over. I tried to pick the patterns with loads of different colours on so the letters would be bright and fun. All I needed was some PVA glue to stick these on with and to smooth over them for a glossy finish. I believe this technique I used was similar to decoupaging.

I hope you like the finished look! I was really happy with how they turned out and would definitely consider doing this again! Let me know if you have ever created anything similar. Also, if anyone has any advice on a good quality and easy to use camera that would be great because my i phone quality is not the best haha!

Thankyou for reading,
Love from Georgia
